Visit to the partner city of Marburg Sfax: exchange, encounters and new impulses

From the 31st. May to the 6th In June 2025, members of the Marburg-Sfax Friends Circle visited our partner city Sfax in Tunisia. In intensive and inspiring meetings, we met partners from the university, the religious community, students from Kerkennah, cultural clubs as well as Prof. Dora Ouali, who supervises the project "Women's House for Sfax" and work for women.

We were warmly received by our partner organization in Sfax led by Chahir Krichen and numerous other institutions: the Cultural House Borj Kallel, Mrs. Aida Zahhar, the Association of Olives de Sfax, Faouzi Zayani, Mrs. Riem, - a teacher from Kerkennah, who for this year organized a student exchange between the Gymnasium Philippinum and prepared a school in Kerkennah —, the health center for mental health "Labes" and the president of the University of Sfax. Accompanied and enriched by their knowledge, our meetings were Dr. Julius Dihstelhoff (Director of the MECAM Center at the University of Marburg in Tunis) and Lena DihstelHoff (Coach).

Our encounters at the cultural level as well as in the fields of sustainability and education were unforgettable and have deeply inspired us. We are very grateful for the super warm hospitality.
