In his talk, “China–Germany Academic Partnerships: Insights & Advice from a Personal Perspective” Dr. Yan will share his firsthand experience in the academic collaboration with Chinese partners. He will provide a realistic roadmap, highlighting potential challenges and offering practical solutions to ensure your collaborative projects are fruitful.

Since 2016 at Justus Liebig University Giessen (JLU), Dr. Yan has been the driving force behind two major collaboration programs with China, securing funding from prestigious bodies like the DFG-NSFC and the Chinese Scholarship Council. His efforts culminated in the signing of significant Memoranda of Understanding with top Chinese institutions like the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) and Southwest University.

About the Speaker:
Dr. Ying Yan is a distinguished scientist with a Ph.D. from CAAS and international research experience in the USA and Panama. As a group leader at JLU, he completed his Habilitation and was recently honored with the "JLU Prize" in 2024.
