Originally from Kenya’s Rift Valley region, Dr Muchina is today one of the leading voices on peace, justice, and global health. She serves as the Director of Policy and Advocacy at the AFSC in Washington, D.C., chairs the Wellness Working Group at AdNA, and previously worked for more than seven years as Senior Partnership Advisor at UNAIDS.
As a committed activist, theologian, and feminist leader, she advocates in numerous ways for African women and young people.
Her academic journey took her to Yale Divinity School and the Union Theological Seminary, where she earned her PhD in 2000. She also teaches at Reykjavik University, focusing on gender and religious diversity.
