September/October 2019

  • The Equal Opportunities Committee promotes the participation of female students in the Master's programs of Faculty 02 who are interested in pursuing PhD studies. There are two possible conferences to choose from, namely: 1) The annual meeting of the Verein für Socialpolitik from 22.-25. September 2019 in Leipzig; and 2) The annual meeting of the International Corporate Governance Society from 11.-13. October 2019 in Essex. Please see the Announcement for details

  • The Equal Opportunities Commission encourages the participation of female M.Sc. students from the School of Business & Economics, who are interested in pursuing a Ph.D., in the annual conference of the European Economic Association (EEA) in Cologne from 27 to 31 August 2018.

  • 28 April 2018 - Whether a student, graduate, experienced specialist, re-entrant, manager or just simply ambitious - at women&work, Europe's largest trade fair exhibition for women, visitors will meet more than 100 top employers who are looking for female reinforcements in the future. Job interviews, lectures and an extensive conference programme help with personal networking and successful career planning. In the Career and Leadership Lounge, contacts can be made with almost 100 networks, consultants, coaches and experts.   • 25 April 2018 - The MArburg University Research Academiy (MARA) offers graduation scholarships for dissertation and habilitation projects with an outstanding scientific quality. The scholarships are addressed to highly qualified female junior academics who complete their doctorates or habilitate at the University of Marburg. The application deadline is 25 April 2018.   • 5 to 6 December 2017 - CAREER Venture invites students, graduates, doctoral candidates and young professionals of all disciplines to CAREERVenture women 2017 at the Lufthansa Training & Conference Center in Seeheim-Jugenheim. This event offers the unique opportunity to conduct several pre-scheduled 45-minute individual interviews in just one day.

  • 28 September 2017 - Mentoring Hesse and the Goethe University host the innovative career conference "Change of Course" for (post) doctoral students on the Westend Campus of the Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main. The conference will present a wide range of career opportunities in business and industry, non-university research and other alternative fields.

  • 2 July - 6 December 2017 - The Equal Opportunities Committee cordially invites you to the film series "Strong Women - Strong Films". In cooperation with Marburg cinemas and TERRE DES FEMMES Marburg e.V., six films are to be shown about women who were particularly courageous and pioneering in their time or their environment and who had or have a lasting influence on the fate of women in their society.

  • 17 June 2017 - over 120 exhibitors will present themselves at women&work, Europe’s largest career event for women, and will be available to visitors for all questions concerning job entry and change, re-entry or the way to the top.   • 8 June 2017 - The Equal Opportunities Committee cordially invites you to Ladies’ Night. The Ladies’ Night will offer young female scientists the opportunity to exchange information informally with each other and with female professors from the Faculty about the situation with jobs, research, compatibility of family and career and other topics. Within the framework of the Ladies’ Night, there is the possibility to talk with representatives of the Equal Opportunities Committee about possibilities of promoting women at the School of Business & Economics.

  • 8 March 2017 - This year’s International Women's Day is calling a broad alliance with representatives from the university city of Marburg and the district of Marburg-Biedenkopf under the motto "We are many. We are strong" to a rally in Marburg.

  • 27 August 2016 - For the first time, the organizers of women&work, Germany’s largest trade fair conference for women, are offering a summer academy free of charge this summer. Enrolled students and graduates of German and foreign universities are eligible to participate. The webinar is in German. You can obtain further information here.

  • 4 June 2016 - At the trade fair conference women&work, ambitious women meet the who’s-who of German companies. Job interviews, speed mentoring, slam sessions and an extensive conference programme help with personal networking, successful career planning and strategic entry and promotion.   • 27 October 2015 - MArburg University Research Academy (MARA) invites all scientists to MARA DAY 2015 in "Landgrafenschloss". MARA DAY is an information and networking day for young scientists at Philipps University of Marburg. All Marburg postdocs, doctoral students and students are invited to the afternoon event shortly before graduation to find out about funding opportunities and qualification offers for young researchers. Within the framework of the evening event, MARA doctoral candidates and postdocs have the opportunity to present their research projects to a larger audience in a three-minute short lecture and/or a poster presentation.
