TIM Seminar Innovating with AI – Experiments with and beyond ChatGPT
In the winter semester 2025/26, we will once again be offering our master's seminar on generative artificial intelligence for innovative product development. In this seminar, you'll learn how to use prominent AI tools to generate text and images, equipping you with the skills to drive innovation in real-world contexts. From learning how to improve prompting to critically evaluate AI outputs, you'll develop an understanding of how generative AI works and how it can be leveraged for innovation tasks such as idea generation for new products or designing unconventional packaging solutions. Further, you gain practical, hands-on experience with various (free) AI tools, for example ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Stable Diffusion.
The seminar is structured into seven key sessions:
1. Introductory Session: basics of generative AI and its potential in innovation
2.-6. Five Experimental Sessions: hands-on application and exercises of generative AI for innovation tasks
7. Presentation Session: student presentations and feedback
