TIM Seminar Innovating with AI – Designing and Building Digital Applications

In the winter semester 2026/27, we will once again offer our Master's seminar on generative artificial intelligence in innovative product development. In this seminar, you will learn how to use various AI tools throughout the innovation process to develop your own ideas for digital applications and turn them into functional prototypes. From AI-assisted market analysis and idea generation to improving your prompting skills and developing apps using AI-generated code (commonly referred to as "vibe coding"), you will gain hands-on experience with the potential of generative AI in product development. In particular, you will explore what AI tools can and cannot achieve at different stages of the innovation process, where their limitations lie, and what role humans play in the process. To this end, you will work with various free AI tools, such as ChatGPT and Perplexity, as well as free development environments.
