With the ongoing digitalization, new technologies offer uncountable possibilities for improvement – especially in medicine. With the usage of robots, AI, and software, the quality of treatments has increased significantly. Not only established companies on the market are using this opportunity to continue their developments, but also start-ups take their chance to launch innovative ideas. eMedicals is one of these successful start-ups with a specialization in nephrology.

The business idea was formed in April 2019 using data-driven technologies to enhance the quality of CKD (chronic kidney disease) treatments. eMedicals developed a platform called “kidi” that assists physicians with their work through analytic tools and decision support systems. For patients, it is a helpful tool for managing their diet and medication. Within less than one year, their team received their first six-digit investment offer, started a cooperation with MAFEX to strengthen their strategies, and built up their own network. These efforts resulted in the foundation of eMedicals Healthtech GmbH in November 2019. Noticeable successes are the 2nd prize at Futura Marburg in 2019 (award for most innovative idea in the Digital Health field) and 1st place at InnoHealth in China in 2020.
