Information for Prospective Students

Are you interested in the economic foundations of modern societies, the problems and opportunities associated with globalization, how markets work, what regulations are necessary to protect consumers, why people do not always act rationally, whether and how development policy can combat poverty, whether guaranteed minimum income can be an important building block in a modern welfare state, or whether central banks can actually fight inflation or stabilize financial markets? Then the academically-oriented Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) programme in Economics is the right choice for you!

In addition to an academic foundation, the degree also teaches practical skills. Once you complete the programme, you will have a wide range of career opportunities.

Although an internship is not a mandatory component of the Bachelor's programme, it is advisable for students to complete an internship as a way of gaining insight into practical issues. The Career Center help students search for a suitable internship. In addition, the key qualifications module provides an opportunity to earn credits through practical work, e.g. by participating in the student council or through courses for the acquisition of soft skills. Motivated students are welcome to take part in the university’s student government or in one of the student initiatives and gain practical experience there.
