I joined Dr. Mareike Grotheer as a PhD student in the AE Educational Neuroscience in November 2022. After my Bachelor of Science in Biology at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen, I completed my Master of Science in Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience at Philipps University Marburg. Already during my bachelor studies I was strongly interested in neuroscientific topics and was able to deepen this focus with the help of my master studies.

In the course of my master thesis in FOR2107 I investigated the structural changes of the brain after child sexual abuse, in comparison to other types of child abuse.

As part of my PhD, I will be looking at white matter development in the brains of newborns and young children. What I particularly appreciate about my project is the different disciplines and the interface between psychology, biology, and data science.
