02.07.2019 Doctoral scholarship for Frederik Bleiber

Frederik Bleiber, a doctoral student from Marburg, received a scholarship from the Stiftung für Kanada-Studien to conduct a research stay in the course of his dissertation project entitled "Towards a Canadian 'Littérature Engagée'"? - Cultural, Ecological and Political Commitment in Contemporary Canadian Literature". The research stay was completed between September and October 2018 at the University of Ottawa, the University of Waterloo and British Columbia to conduct research and an interview with Frank Christopher Busch, member of the Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation and author of Grey Eyes.

Frederik Bleiber studied English and French at the Philipps-Universität Marburg and came into contact with the scientific work in the field of Canadian studies already during his time as a student through the Marburg Center for Canadian Studies and the Canadian-related contents of his studies.

Since April 2018 he has been working at the Language Center of the Philipps-Universität Marburg where he developed a workshop on Canada entitled "Canada for Everyone/Le Canada pour tous" and offered it for the first time in July 2019.
