Documents to submit

The following documents and materials are required for participating in the aptitude testing process:

  1. Application for admission (online application from the online application portal)
  2. Proof of completion of a relevant bachelor’s degree program in the area of natural science or engineering or proof of a comparable domestic or foreign professionally qualifying university degree.
  3. Proof of good English skills, at least level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages of the Council of Europe.
  4. curriculum vitae
  5. English-language letter of motivation approximately one A4 page in length (roughly 300-500 words). Write why you are fascinated by functional materials and which particular materials are of interest to you.
  6. You should do a self-test available on our website. You need to submit this form which indicates that you did the self-test.
  7. If applicable, proof of suitability or aptitude mentioned in # 5 above. In most cases, this will not apply and you can ignore this point.
  8. APS certificate - Important information for applicants with a degree from India: Starting with the winter semester 2023/2024, you will need an APS certificate as a mandatory application document. For more information, please visit the website of the Academic Evaluation Center Delhi and the website of uni-assist. If you are already in Germany and have a student visa, you do not need an APS certificate.
