Japanese

Japan is the third most powerful economy in the world, and the Japanese language is spoken by 127 million people. Moreover, Japanese is one of the most-frequently learned languages in the Asian and Pacific area. Learning Japanese in Germany will open up many career pathways because it is rarely learned here. Besides this, Japanese is a particularly interesting language to learn because of how different it is from European languages. At this point, there are 10 exchange programs  between Philipps-Universität Marburg and Japanese partner schools, which provides rich opportunity for an immersion experience in Japan. Contact with a non-European culture allows a change in perspective and is conducive to mutual understanding.
