Biography

Marlon Westhoff (M. Sc. Psychology) is a research associate in the "Center of Translational Clinical Psychology" working group and a doctoral student in the "Marburger Model." Within the framework of this model, he is concurrently pursuing his Ph.D. while completing training as a Psychological Psychotherapist with a focus on (cognitive) behavior therapy at IPAM Marburg.

Marlon is a state-approved physiotherapist and subsequently studied psychology at the University of Trier and the University of Gießen. During his academic journey, he gained valuable practical therapeutic experience in psychotherapy practices for children and adolescents, in a neurological intensive care unit, and within a correctional facility.

In his current research, Marlon's primary focus is on process-based approaches. This encompasses the examination of dynamic psychological processes such as cognitions, emotions, and psychological flexibility, along with their intricate interactions and implications for mental health. Building upon this, he explores potential points of intervention for therapy. His particular interests lie in idiographic analysis, network-based approaches, and innovative data-driven algorithms.

Beyond his academic pursuits, Marlon is an avid basketball player and musician. During his leisure time, he tours with his band and captivates audiences as a drummer on stage.
