Promotionsprojekt: Memory, Social Inequalities and Intersectionality at the Colombian Comisión para el Esclarecimiento de la Verdad, la Convivencia y la No Repetición
The Comisión para el Esclarecimiento de la Verdad, la Convivencia y la No Repetición (CEV) is a truth commission established in Colombia thanks to a peace agreement signed with the FARC guerrilla in 2016. While the field and practice of transitional justice has experienced a noteworthy process of gender mainstreaming since the 1990’s, the current Colombian transitional justice process marks the mainstreaming of intersectionality. The research focuses on this process in relation to the clarification of crimes committed against Indigenous and Afro-descendent women and their communities, as well as these people’s strategies to participate in this scenario and to employ intersectionality as a tool to make their narratives visible and produce social transformations.
