This guest lecture will examine key considerations in Sino-German academic collaboration, including sensitive research areas, the institutional context of potential partners, and issues of data governance. By combining open-source information with institutional mapping, it will illustrate a methodological approach to analyzing potential partners and identifying risk signals. The lecture also highlights how the approach can be integrated into research security frameworks and policy discussions, supporting universities in balancing openness with responsible international engagement.

About the speaker:

Tingyu Song is a full-time research assistant at the Center for Cultural Studies on Science and Technology in China (CCST), TU Berlin. Her research focuses on research security and risk assessment in Sino-German academic cooperation.
