Junior Fellow Program at the Research Center Deutscher Sprachatlas

The Research Center Deutscher Sprachatlas warmly welcomes visiting scholars who are planning a longer stay at the DSA as Junior Fellows.

Application deadlines: 31 March (for stays starting in October) and 30 September (for stays starting in April)

Who can apply?

PhD students (R1 First Stage Researcher)

What do we offer?

  • 3–12 month research stay
  • access to the online services offered by the University of Marburg via an online account
  • access to the "Regional Language Research and Documentation Center", including the specialized library
  • your own workspace at the Research Center Deutscher Sprachatlas
  • meetings with scientists at the institute
  • peer contact and mentorship for the duration of your stay
  • welcome services: assistance in finding an accommodation and, if necessary, a school/kindergarten; tour of the building, library, and archives
  • upon request and upon agreement: attending courses and workshops offered by the institute, work shadowing in projects and working groups
  • participating in institute life

What do we expect during your stay?

Funding

Please note that junior fellows receive primarily non-material support from the Research Center Deutscher Sprachatlas. Therefore, we ask you to secure your own funding for the duration of your research stay. If you need any type of confirmation of your research stay for funding institutions, please contact us in good time.
