...Therefore Study 'Mathematics'!

Deepen Your Expertise

In the Master's program in Mathematics, you can expand and deepen the specialist skills you acquired in your Bachelor's program. You will complete various advanced and specialization modules from the fields of pure and applied mathematics.

If the modules you choose have connections in terms of content, you will be able to better and more quickly recognize the connections within mathematics. For this purpose, the lecturers of mathematics have created combination recommendations that can provide assistance in the selection of modules. The combination recommendations become clear via the recommended prior knowledge of the advanced modules and especially of the specialization modules; the 'Vorleistungsbrowser' is a graphical tool that shows combination possibilities depending on your individually completed modules so far.

You will find any restrictions on enrollment under Study Composition.

Independent Scientific Work

You will participate in seminars and give independently prepared presentations. Don't worry, staff and fellow students can give you valuable advice as you prepare!

You will take a mathematical internship (Independent Scientific Practice Mathematics) to do a hands-on project or solve a problem from pure mathematics algorithmically!

The final master's thesis will be your first research-oriented scientific elaboration. You will be given enough time and help to prepare. You will present the results of your work in a lecture.

Dare To Look Beyond the Subject-Specific

Optionally, it is possible to choose a profile area in the amount of 18 CP, in which skills of another scientific discipline are learned.
