4. Orientation programs for incoming international students:

The orientation program is intended to make your start at the Philipps-Universität and in Marburg easier. Our tutors, themselves students of our university, will help participants to settle all the formal matters including the required procedures with the authorities such as:

  • opening a bank account
  • assistance with & information on required health Insurance
  • registration with the local authorities
  • registration with immigration office (Ausländerbehörde)
  • semester fees: If you take part in our orientation program, there is no need to pay the semester fee in advance from your home country. We will help you with the transfer during the orientation program.

During the orientation program, our tutors will show you important locations on campus, e.g. the university library or the cafeteria. A range of enjoyable social events is also part of the orientation program. You will, for instance, have the opportunity to participate in a guided city tour and get to know typical dishes from the home countries of your international fellow students at our International Dinner.
