Access and use

Sites A and B: 

The CALM management organizes access to the equipment and takes care of user administration. User fees are charged according to the current terms of use and regularly invoiced to the working groups. Interested researchers should contact the CALM management  for more information.

The introduction of new users from the Department of Biology to the independent use of the microscopes takes place in several steps:

1.     Establish contact with the CALM management  and, if necessary, get advice on suitable equipment depending on the research
question. Receipt of terms of use.

2.     Basic instruction in the use of the equipment by a responsible equipment supervisor.

3.      Supervised practice with a working group (AG) tutor.

4.      Practical examination ("Führerschein") with an equipment supervisor.

5.      Submission of signed terms of use by the new user to the CALM management.

6.      Independent booking of operating time via the booking system in ilias.

Site C:  

The Zeiss Spinning Disc Microscope is managed by the Core Facility "Cellular Imaging" at the School of Medicine. Site C is headed by Prof. Dr. Annette Borchers, equipment supervisor is Dr. Detlef Buttgereit . You can find more information on the booking and usage regulations on the "Cellular Imaging" website.
