Fen restoration in Burgwald forest

The excursion will visit the Burgwald, a large, continuous forest near Marburg. Many fens in this region have been successfully restored over time, and we will observe the different stages of regeneration. The hike will cover approximately 4 km of forest roads and hiking paths (hiking shoes required). We will finish at Waldgasthaus Christenberg, which offers great views of the surrounding landscape, and there will be an opportunity for refreshments. The excursion will start on Saturday at midday and return to Marburg at around 6pm.
