Monitoring and Modelling

We develop and integrate methods to make ecological changes visible, measurable, and predictable. Our work combines remote sensing, ecoclimatological measurements, AI-supported modelling, and structured data management that enables long-term comparable analyses.

A key focus is the development of innovative monitoring methods that capture biodiversity, climate, and landscape dynamics at high spatial and temporal resolution. In this way, we create robust data foundations and models that help to understand ecological processes – and open up scope for action in research, planning, and practice.
