Cellular Neuropsychiatry

Welcome to the homepage of the Cellular Neuropsychiatry Research Group headed by Dr. dr. Fanni F. Geibl and Dr. Martin T. Henrich.

The neurobiological mechanisms of pathogenesis are still insufficiently understood for many psychiatric disorders. Using genetic (RNAseq), optical (2-photon microscopy), electrophysiological (single cell patch clamp) as well as electron microscopic techniques (TEM), we establish and characterize new models of addictive disorders (e.g. amphetamine dependence) as well as neurodegenerative disorders (e.g. Parkinson's disease). A major focus is on translating neurologically established basic research techniques to strengthen basic psychiatric research at the cellular level.

By recruiting young enthusiastic individuals to our multinational team, we contribute to the education and training of the next generation of psychiatry-based basic scientists. Whether you are a student, postdoc, or established scientist, if you are ready to dedicate your time to translational research at an international level, please apply by emailing geibl@staff.uni-marburg.de
