Marburg students at the 38. Postgraduate Course in Dubrovnik
From May 13 to 25, 2024, students from Philipps University Marburg participated in the 38th Postgraduate Course on Victimology, Victim Assistance and Criminal Justice in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Together with around 80 students from around the world and numerous international experts, they spent two intensive weeks attending lectures, discussions, and excursions – set amidst the historic old town and right by the sea.
Topics covered included the history and theory of victimology, human trafficking in Ukraine, femicides, state victim protection, and current developments in crime prevention. The program was further enriched by diverse perspectives from both research and practice.
In addition to lectures, the program included joint activities and excursions that fostered exchange, such as a guided tour of Dubrovnik’s old town, a visit to the Arboretum in Trsteno followed by a boat tour to Mali Ston, and a full-day trip to the “Lost City.” The unique atmosphere on-site and the international composition of participants once again made the course a special experience.
