Nuremberg Moot Court 2025
Out of the lecture hall, into practice!
Have you always wanted to know what it’s like in front of an international court? Do you find it exciting to work with your teammates on cases involving war crimes, crimes against humanity, or genocide? Do you want to put your rhetorical skills in English to the test? Then step out of the lecture hall and into the practice of international criminal law!
At the Nuremberg Moot Court, you can step into the roles of defense attorneys and prosecutors in a fictional criminal trial before the International Criminal Court. First, you will discuss the case’s issues together, research relevant case law, plan legal prosecution and defense strategies, and collaboratively draft your briefs. The best teams from around the world then come together in Nürnberg. At the historic site of the Nuremberg Trials, you will have the opportunity to present your arguments in a mock trial while also networking and exchanging ideas with international students and experts from academia and practice.
Whether you are studying law, pursuing a master’s degree, or participating in monitoring, all you need is enthusiasm for—and, if possible, some basic knowledge of—international criminal law, a love for teamwork, and curiosity about legal practice.
The Nuremberg Moot Court will take place in July 2025, and participants can earn 6 ECTS in the M.A. International Criminal Justice, either for the module “Application Perspectives of International Criminal Law” or “Advanced International Criminal Law.”
