The aim of this workshop is to make participants more aware of how cultural differences can influence networking and working in a multi-cultural setting. After attending the workshop, the participants will have increased their cultural awareness and understanding of the role culture plays in the international academic setting.

Content

This 3-hour seminar can be held either in German or in English and will consist of the following elements:

• Understanding culture in general.
• The role of an individual's culture on their personality and actions.
• Working in the multi-cultural academic world.
• Improving the ability to work in the multi-cultural academic setting.

The workshop will consist of a mixture of input from the trainer and active participation enabling the participants to experience how culture affects life in the academic setting. The methods used will be a mixture of simulations, critical incident analysis and role plays.
