EMF – Design of and Application for Third-Party-Funded Projects – Online Course

This two-day workshop supports you in the (further) development of your own project idea, the search for suitable funding opportunities and the preparation of your research proposal.

The successful application for third-party funding is essential for the implementation of many research projects. Acquiring third-party funding is also an important component in building your academic career.
In this two-day workshop, the necessary tools for submitting an application are systematically conveyed – from the (further) development of your project idea, through the search for suitable funding opportunities to the preparation of the specific application in German or English.

On the first day of the workshop, you create the basic structure of your application for your project idea. In the time between the two workshop days you will continue to work on the draft for your application. On the second workshop day you will receive constructive feedback, which you can use to complete the application.

Intended Learning Outcomes

After this workshop, you will be able to

• Develop your own project ideas.
• Search for research funding options.
• Get an overview of the entire process of application preparation and assess whichsteps are reasonable in which phase.
• Formulate your application in compliance with the basic structure and formalities.
• Use methods to develop a realistic work program including time and budget planning.

Requirements 

EMF participants have priority in registration.

To participate in the online course you need a PC/laptop with a current browser (recommended: Chrome or Firefox) as well as a headset (or speakers and microphone), possibly a webcam plus a stable internet connection.

Registration

This workshop is part of the certifying program "Designing and Managing Research Projects" (EMF).
Please register via the external database AnWeiVe until March 15, 2021.
Please note that registration is always binding. You may cancel your registration up to twelve days before the course begins without providing specific reasons. Thereafter, you will be required to pay the attendance fee even if you do not attend the course.
