During the defense of your doctoral thesis, you have to give a presentation of 10 to 30 minutes, which is followed by a discussion. This workshop is designed to prepare you optimally for this situation. The first part of the workshop will provide practical tips for your introductory presentation: how to structure the presentation, how to build your central argument, what language to use, and so on. The second part of the workshop will deal with typical problems that occur during the discussion: how to respond to criticism and "killer questions", how to deal with stage fright, mental blocks, and similar. The third part of the workshop will offer you the opportunity to give your presentation and receive feedback from the group and trainer.
The workshop is designed for doctoral candidates from all academic fields so you can profit from different perspectives and experiences from outside your own area.
