Presenting your research effectively is a crucial skill for any scientist. A great presentation conveys information, captures attention, builds credibility, and leaves a lasting impression. In this workshop, you will learn practical strategies to structure your content, craft a compelling message, and design visually engaging slides. You will learn to plan, design, and deliver a presentation much more thoughtfully, so that your presentation stays in the minds of the audience long after you step off the stage.
Qualification Outcomes
After attending the workshop, you will be able to
- Tailor a presentation to a specific audience
- Define personal presentation goals
- Develop and convey a clear central message
- Structure a presentation using narrative tools
- Design illustrative graphs and engaging slides
Methods
Individual writing and presentation exercises, tandem work, group discussions, constructive feedback sessions
Requirements
Be willing to speak in front of other participants about your research project. Please prepare a figure showing the most important result of your research project on a single slide.
Participants must agree to keep any unpublished results shared during the workshop confidential.
Proficiency in English at the B2 level of competency or higher is required.
