EMF – Design of and Application for Third-Party-Funded Projects – In-Person Event

This two-day event will help you develop your own project idea, identify appropriate funding opportunities, and begin preparing a competitive research proposal.

Third-party funding is often a key factor in realizing research projects. For early career researchers it also plays a crucial role in building a sustainable academic career. This workshop provides early career researchers with essential tools and strategies to confidently navigate the application process for third-party funding.
 
During this two-day workshop, you will systematically work on your own application for funding of a project in the postdoc phase – from refining your project idea, developing a sound project concept, and identifying suitable funding programs to your first draft of a convincing proposal in either German or English.

Qualification Outcomes

After the workshop, you will be able to

• Refine your research project idea and translate it into a coherent project concept.
• Identify appropriate third-party funding opportunities relevant to your field and career stage.
• Understand the application process for third-party funding and manage the necessary steps at each stage.
• Develop a first draft of a proposal that meets the structural and formal requirements.
• Apply methods for developing a realistic work program, including time schedule and budget planning.

Registration

This is a mandatory event of the certifying program "Designing and Managing Research Projects" (EMF).  If you are not a participant of the program, you will be on the waiting list until two weeks prior the beginning of the event.

Please note that registration is always binding. You may cancel your registration up to twelve days before the event begins without providing specific reasons. Thereafter, you will be required to pay the attendance fee even if you do not attend the event.
