„Mastering your Interdisciplinary Career“ supports you in effectively positioning yourself and your research profile within the academic system.
You will engage with the challenges, opportunities, and key strategic aspects of interdisciplinary career development. The workshop focuses on sharpening your research profile, communicating interdisciplinary research convincingly such as in the context of conferences or third-party funding applications and developing strategic perspectives for individual career planning. With this workshop you are taking initial steps toward establishing yourself in the academic landscape with a clearly defined interdisciplinary approach that is both impactful and sustainable.
Qualification Outcomes
After the workshop, you will be able to
- Explain fundamental principles of strategic career planning within interdisciplinary contexts and apply them to your own career path.
- Implement key techniques of interdisciplinary communication, particularly when engaging with diverse expert audiences.
- Strengthen the persuasiveness of your own interdisciplinary profile and gain confidence in navigating professional roles across disciplinary boundaries.
- Strategically build and expand a tailored expert network aligned with your own specific research focus.
- Use future-relevant key competencies ("future skills") and reflect their role in interdisciplinary career trajectories.

Requirements
You will be asked to fill out a short pre-workshop survey.
To participate in the online course you need a PC/laptop with a current browser (recommended: Chrome or Firefox) as well as a headset (or speakers and microphone), a webcam plus a stable Internet connection.

Registration
This is a mandatory event of the certifying program "Designing and Managing Research Projects" (EMF). If you are not a participant of the program, you will be on the waiting list until two weeks prior the beginning of the event.
