Introductory Workshops for International Doctoral Candidates
Since 2015, MARA and the Administration Unit of International Affairs and Family Service have organized introductory workshops in English for international doctoral candidates from abroad who are visiting Philipps-Universität Marburg.
The introductory workshops for international doctoral candidates are currently conducted twice a year and comprise various informational offerings and workshops organized by MARA and the Administration Unit of International Affairs and Family Service on the topics of "Getting Your Doctorate in Germany and at Philipps-Universität Marburg", "Funding", "Intercultural Training", "Academic Writing", "Good Scientific Practice", "Academic Publishing" as well as "Career Pathways" and "Job Application Training". A supplemental program provides opportunities to get to know one another and engage in networking.
Thanks to German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) funding financed by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the Federal Foreign Office, attendance of the introductory workshops for international doctoral candidates is free of charge. You must register with MARA (firstname.lastname@example.org) up to 14 days prior to the introductory workshops. Your registration will be valid for the respective block of events.
You can find the current schedule of the introductory workshops for international scholars in our calendar of events. The courses are indicated there as "Getting Started". If you have questions, do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
