Application and Admission

Here you will find all the information you need about your application and the admission process at Philipps University of Marburg. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us by email at:

  • Application via uni-assist

Please register on the uni-assist applicant portal. If you already have an account, please continue to use it.

You can apply for your desired degree program using the search function. You may submit up to 3 applications per semester to Philipps University of Marburg.

You can find the documents, translations, and certifications required for your application here.
Please also upload the documents required for any additional admission requirements.

Please note that processing by uni-assist may take 4–6 weeks.

  • My application to uni-assist was successful - what happens next?

Once uni-assist has reviewed your documents, your application will be forwarded to the university.
You will then receive an email (email address provided in your application) containing your login credentials for the Marvin university portal.

Please log in using these credentials.
You will be asked at the beginning whether you consent to email notifications and the electronic administrative process. If you agree, you will be contacted by email as soon as the status of your application changes, and notifications of admission or rejection will be made available to you online via the portal.

  • Admission Procedures and Waiting Times

Here you will find all the information you need about the admission and enrollment procedures, as well as details on when admission and rejection notices will be posted online.

  • Admission letter

Your admission letter contains all the relevant information for you.
There you will find your enrollment date. You have until this date to apply for enrollment via the Marvin portal. After this date, your spot in the program will expire.

Admission letters are valid only for the semester specified therein. It is not possible to defer admission. In this case, you must reapply for the next semester via uni-assist.

  • Visa

International students can now use the VisaFlow platform for free. This tool helps you better organize important steps such as visa applications, entry into the country, and residence permits, and keeps you on top of everything.

Bring your letter of admission or enrollment certificate to your appointment at the embassy. If you are taking a language course, bring your registration documents with you.
