Enrollment for a study program
Enrollment deadlines:
You will find deadlines on your admission letter, so please read the admission letter carefully.
Required documents:
For the online enrollment in the Marvin portal, you must upload all the required documents under the “Documents” section.
Search for accomodation
The earlier you start looking for accommodation before the start of the semester, the more options you will have. When looking for accommodation, it is best to consider different types of accommodation, for example halls of residence, rooms or shared flats. Inform yourself about the different ways to search for an apartment and use the summarized guidelines as orientation.
Suggestion for your appointment at the embassy
For your appointment at the embassy you usually need these documents from the university:
- Admission letter
- Registration confirmation German course (if already available)
No visa yet? - These are your options:
You have been admitted, but you do not have a visa yet?
There are two ways we can help you now.
- Admissions are only valid for the semester for which you have applied. If you are unable to enter by May 15 for a summer semester and by November 15 for a winter semester, it makes sense to submit a new application to uni-assist for the next semester. It is cheaper than enrolling.
- Alternatively, we can enroll you. This makes sense when you received a conditional admission and you have to learn German first. German classes are offered more often during one semester, so you can start at a later date, too. Beware: You still have to pay the full semester contribution! German classes have to be registered for seperately and cost extra.
International students at Philipps-Universität Marburg can now access the VisaFlow platform free of charge. This digital tool helps you stay organized and informed about key steps like applying for your visa, residency permit, and entering Germany.
