Located at the heart of Hesse, Marburg is the host city of Philipps-Universität Marburg, the oldest institution of its kind in the State. Marburg is also the capital of the district of Marburg-Biedenkopf, which currently has around 77,000 inhabitants. Both Kassel and Frankfurt can easily be reached from Marburg and are only one hour away by car or public transport. Marburg is a vibrant city that offers a vast array of events, including plenty of culture and history.
