30.10.2026 Welcome Day for new Professors 2026
On October 29, 2026 Marburg University hosted a warm welcome for the newly appointed professors and their families.
On October 29, 2026, a warm welcome was held for the newly appointed faculty members in the Alte Aula. The professors were welcomed with a lively program. An accompanying program for their families was also offered, which was very well received.
The event began with a casual reception that gave new members the opportunity to network. The Executive Board welcomed the newly appointed members in the Alte Aula. The president, Prof. Dr. Thomas Nauss gave an inspiring address and highlighted the university’s values and goals.
After an informative first half, which included time for questions and discussion, there was a coffee break that allowed for further networking. This was followed by the "University Fair", where various departments introduced themselves and provided insights into their work.
At the same time, the accompanying program—featuring a city tour and a networking café—got underway, organized by colleagues from the MArburg University Research Academy and the Family Services office.
After exploring the hidden rooms of the Landgrave’s Castle together, the event concluded with a reception where the newly appointed faculty members and their families had the opportunity to chat in a relaxed setting with members of the Executive Board, deans, last year’s newly appointed faculty members, and one another.
These personal encounters opened up numerous opportunities for future collaboration. Overall, the event was a successful start for the new members of Marburg University. We look forward to an exciting time together!
