Career Paths

The infographic "Career Paths at Marburg University", designed as a decision tree, illustrates the diverse career paths available at the university. Starting from a person icon, arrows lead to two main paths: one arrow points to a circle labeled “Vocational Training” and the other to a circle labeled “Academic Studies.” From the “Training” circle, you can take the career path toward “Doctorate” or into “Administration and Technology.” From the “Academic Studies” circle, you can take the path toward “Vocational Training,” “Administration and Technology,” or “Doctorate.” From the “Doctorate” circle, one can move into “Administration and Technology,” take a postdoc position, or take a permanent academic position such as Lecturer, Researcher, or Academic Manager. Even as a postdoc, one can still switch to Administration and Technology or take a permanent academic position. As a postdoc, it is also possible to be appointed to a professorship.
From any of these positions, it is possible to move to a non-university employer.
