Field course in Peru: Eco-geographical aspects of the transition from the Andean Cloud Forest tot he Lowland Amazon of Peru
Course topic examples: Comparative studies on epiphyte, epiphyll distributions or plant functional traits among or within ecosystems, plant-insect interactions, forest development after small or large-scale disturbances, patterns of land use, etc.
A parallel course to the fieldwork preparation during the summer semester, also adressing project design and analysis but without the focus on Andean and Amazonian ecosystems, can be attended without joining the fieldwork in Peru. This course focusses on vegetation dynamcis at alpine treelines and includes an excursion to the Alps in the excursion week.
