This workshop for advanced postdocs offers a bit of background on the new EU funding programme, Horizon 2020, that began January, 2014. You will also get some to-do and not-to-do tips on writing proposals for EU funding possibilities.

If you are an advanced postdoc, you may be eligible to apply for a Marie Curie individual or an European Research Council (ERC) beginning grant.

This workshop addresses

  • How much money do they provide?
  • What are the eligibility criteria?
  • When are the application deadlines?
  • What are some “secret” tips writing successful proposals for these programmes?

You can also use this workshop as an opportunity to get to know and potentially set an appointment for an individual consultation with the Philipps-Universität Marburg EU-Referentin.

This workshop is divided into four parts

  1. Context: Horizon 2020 overview
  2. Marie Curie Individual and ERC Starting Grants background information: budget, requirements, application process for Marie Curie Individual Grants and ERC beginning grants
  3. Proposal-writing tips for Marie Curie Individual Grants and ERC beginning grants
  4. Individual advice/appointment making for potential follow-up

Intended Learning Outcomes
