The labor market is in flux. Trends such as increasing digitization (e.g., Big Data, Industry 4.0), the diversification of types of employment, or rapid change in professions are making new demands on the future workforce as well as on businesses and education.

Together with the Career Center, the Junior Scholars Office, and the International Office, MARA will be organizing a career fair. Junior scholars and students will have the opportunity to meet with employers and labor market experts as part of a program tailored to the specific target groups. The framework program will include a panel discussion on "Work in the Future" and presentations from professional practice and scholars. Furthermore, there will be a contest for junior scholars for the most convincing "elevator pitch". This year, the focus of this format, adopted from MARA DAY, will be on the question, "How is my research project relevant to the labor market of the future?"

Contest for the most convincing elevator pitch

The “elevator pitches” will take place from 11:30 to 12:30 am in the Panoramasaal at the Erwin-Piscator-Haus. Doctoral candidates and postdocs give short presentations of three minutes addressing the question, “How is my research project relevant to the labor market of the future?” and convince the audience of the value and usefulness of their research. The election on the most convincing elevator pitch and the award ceremony will follow directly. The winner will receive a voucher worth 100 EUR toward MARA continuing education offerings.

There will be two coaching sessions to perfectly prepare you for the contest. Please feel free to approach us with your questions any time: mara.oeffentlichkeitsarbeit@uni-marburg.de.

We're looking forward to an exciting contest!
