EMF – Presentation Skills for Female Researchers – In-person event

Public speaking and stage presence with theatre-based training: This workshop empowers women in research to present with confidence, presence, and authenticity to make a lasting impact.

Speaking in public is fundamental for researchers. However, women often face unique challenges. In this workshop you train to build confidence with acting techniques and coaching tools—master body
language, voice, presence, and storytelling to command attention and connect authentically.

This workshop gives you the space to rediscover yourself and use your body language, voice, and the potential of your personality to your advantage in presentations and communication situations. It will be very interactive, with lots of exercises in small groups and in plenary.

Expect to be challenged, expect to participate, and expect to be listened!

Qualification Outcomes

After the workshop, you will be able to

• Deal constructively with performance anxiety and build a strong, authentic connection with your audience.
• Use your own body language, posture, and vocal techniques effectively to gain presence, take up space, and speak with authority.
• Apply storytelling and argumentation profitably.
• Apply acting-based tools to enhance your stage presence, boost charisma, and present your research with clarity and influence.

Acting and stage techniques, warm-ups and techniques to enhance vocal power, posture, and confident body language

Requirements 

Please dress casual, so that you are able to move. Please bring a topic on which you would like to practise presentations.

This workshop is part of the certifying program "Designing and Managing Research Projects" (EMF).
