Our University

Since 1527, Philipps-Universität Marburg has stood for academic excellence, diversity, and social responsibility. We combine perspectives from the humanities, natural sciences, life sciences, and social sciences and promote interdisciplinary collaboration across disciplinary boundaries. As a public university, we act transparently, sustainably, and in the service of the public good.

Our Values

We see ourselves as an open and diverse community. Issues such as equal opportunity, diversity, and inclusion are firmly anchored in our structures. Our principles are guided by the university’s mission statement, in which sustainability also plays a central role. Through university-wide initiatives and concrete projects, we shape our campus in a responsible and forward-looking manner.
