Goals

The Marburg University’s policy decision of March 2017 to permanently establish tenure track professorships combines four strategic goals:

Recruiting outstanding postdocs with strong potential for growth, in order to provide them with an early opportunity to pursue an independent career path leading to a tenured professorship.

Supporting new innovative and exploratory research approaches by engaging emerging creative talent, giving opportunity to test these approaches, and encouraging implementation in cooperation with established scholars at the university and its institutional network partners.

Increasing the proportion of women in professorships by utilizing specifically tailored methods to actively recruit suitable female applicants.

Strengthening internationality by increasing the number of professors from abroad through active international recruitment strategies.
