What Matters to Us in the Selection of Professorships

Our job postings are aimed at outstanding scientists who are open to collaboration and interdisciplinary exchange and who contribute their disciplinary perspectives to better understand the world and make it a better place to live. We want to understand what drives you, where you want to go, and what contribution you can make.

In our selection process, the following factors are of primary importance:

  • the substantive quality of your research and teaching,
  • your innovative scholarly contribution to pressing issues of our time,
  • the societal impact of your work.

Pure publication numbers and impact factors alone do not impress us. We adhere to the principles of transparency and fairness based on our Professorship appointment guidelines (PDF, German) and quality-oriented, cross-disciplinary evaluation criteria (PDF, German)
