Ideas - Crises - Effects

To mark the 500th anniversary of the Reformation in 2017, an exhibition in Marburg will treat the question of how Reformation principles reformed the educational landscape and, at least in some cases, led to radical changes. In Hesse alone, the Reformation can be linked to the foundation of the world’s first Protestant university, the introduction of the ritual of confirmation, and the establishment of new schools; later there were serious conflicts within Hesse between Lutheran and Reformed Christians. The exhibition combines original artifacts and historical documents with experiences of modern life and today’s challenges for teachers and students to provide a fascinating educational opportunity in its own right.

Exhibition in the Museum for Cultural History | Landgrave Castle Marburg
