Dates & Deadlines
According to the requirements of the "General Regulations," explicit registration is required to take exams. This exam registration is done online via MARVIN and should not be confused with the registration for courses that took place before the start of lectures.
You can register for module exams in the Department of Physics independently via MARVIN within a specific time frame and, if necessary, deregister again.
Please note that registration for the course requirements is also required for almost all modules!
We recommend registering exclusively via the study planner with the module plan, as this is the only way to ensure that you register in the correct area. If a registration option ('Register' button) is not in the desired area (which can happen if the lecture can be included in multiple modules), you can display it in the desired location by clicking on the course behind the double arrow.
For examination and registration dates for modules of other departments, please refer to the websites of the respective department. Please note further that for import modules only the regulations of the offering department apply!
Please - as always when correspond with the examination office - give your full name, your matriculation-number and your course of study including PO (to be found on your semester card), as well as the exam/s that you are writing about and the exam date.

Checklist for a successful exam registration:
- Receive your TAN list, a list of "transaction numbers" similar to online banking.
The HRZ will automatically send this to the postal address stored in MARVIN.
Important also: For all departments only one list is active at a time, so you can also use these numbers for registration at other departments.
I lost my TAN-List! - Registration or, if applicable, de-registration for course requirement/s and examination/s via MARVIN.
ATTENTION! After expiry of the deadlines, you can no longer register or deregister for course requirements and examinations!
Participation in exams without registering in MARVIN is not permitted and will not be accepted! If you do not take part in the exam despite your report, this will be considered as a failure, unless there are valid reasons for your non-attendance. (e.g. illness) You have to inform the exam office immediately about this. - Check the registration or de-registration via MARVIN
It is recommended that you recheck the exam registration/deregistration, because what is in the system on the exam day is valid!
What to do if it does not work?
For content or technical problems, please send an email with your name, matriculation number, study program and a screenshot of the error message to the examination office (pruefungsbuero@physik.uni-marburg.de).
If your email arrives within the registration and deregistration deadline set for this exam, it will be processed accordingly.
