BSc. Seminar - Value Based Management (Winter Semester 2023/24)

Objective and lecturing style:

Students should learn to analyze and discuss theoretical issues and practical implications of value based management systems. The seminar will center the analysis and evaluation of value based management systems. Students are asked to work on a research question as well as on related introductory collection of data. Thereby, students work in groups of up to four individuals.

The seminar is designed to deepen the understanding of research in the area of management accounting. Students will apply theoretically discussed problems in an introductory collection of data to attain insights on empirical research. It will enhance the students’ confidence, skills, and proficiency when discussing research questions - theoretically and empirically.

The seminar is intended as a preparation to successfully write a bachelor thesis. Passing the seminar is a prerequisite to applying for a bachelor thesis with us.

Schedule:

Organizational issues will be discussed during the kick-off session. Students will present their work on the presentation day. The schedule is as follows:

Kick-off session: October 24th, 12 p.m. at room 011 (00/0110) (Universitätsstraße 24, Institutsgebäude (U | 04)).
Mid-presentation: November 28th, 12 - 2 p.m. at room 011 (00/0110) (Universitätsstraße 24, Institutsgebäude (U | 04))
Seminar paper deadline: December 15th, 11:59 p.m.
