Lecture - Fundamentals of Data Analytics (Summer 2023)

Objective and lecturing style:

The lecture presents and discusses methods and theories useful to explore and learn from data. Adopting the view that “[t]he world's most valuable resource is no longer oil, but data” (Economist, 2017), the lecture addresses topics of “data literacy”, applied data analytics, as well as the correlation versus causation issue.

A regular tutorial in Python programming will be offered in order to apply the concepts discussed in the lecture. Thereby, students are asked to bring their own laptops to the tutorial.
