Your Lens, My Lens: Understanding Misunderstanding (Dr. Annika Brück-Hübner, JLU Gießen)

In diverse and intercultural learning environments, misunderstandings are common. They often arise from differing perspectives, experiences, and expectations. This interactive workshop explores how individual experiences, cultural backgrounds, and unconscious biases shape the way we perceive and interpret situations. Through guided reflection and discussion, participants will examine how differing “lenses” can lead to misinterpretation and, in some cases, exclusion. The session encourages students to become more aware of their own perspectives and to develop more inclusive and mindful ways of engaging with others.

This workshop is offered as part of the IMPACCT project (International Mobility with Partners Abroad for Culturally Competent Teachers) at JLU Giessen and is open to all interested participants.
