The new clinical elective course in general pediatrics began its first round in the winter term of 2025
After the content for the new clinical electives was developed during the summer term as part of the SAP project, the new elective General Pediatrics was offered for the first time in the 2025 winter term. Over the course of a week, lecturers from the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine presented various topics, including communication, ethics, key symptoms, scientific work, rheumatology, critically ill children, rheumatology chatbots, rounds, handover, and the preparation of a doctor's letter.
After an intensive and busy week, all students completed the elective course with excellent results. In line with the SaP approach, each individual teaching unit was evaluated and ideas were collected on how to improve and expand the elective course, what needs more or less space, and what has already been well implemented in terms of content and didactics and will continue to be part of this dynamic elective course in the future.
The entire elective course was supervised by our student assistants Julia and Helene, who had already been heavily involved in discussing, designing, and preparing the SaP project. We are already looking forward to the next round, and for anyone who is interested: Further information about the elective course can be found here.
