Practical training
Dear Students,
Have you always wanted to become a pediatrician and get a taste of practice as soon as possible? Or is pediatrics still a closed book to you, and you would first like to get a taste of working with our youngest patients and adolescents? If so, we would be delighted to welcome you to our clinics as an intern (German Famulantin or Famulant).
What clinical traineeships are possible?
Depending on your interest, you will have the following options at our center:
- Inpatient clinical traineeship on one of our peripheral wards
- Outpatient clinical traineeship at our day clinic or at our pediatric emergency room
Clinical internships are possible on the following peripheral wards:
- Ward 039: neuropediatric ward
- Ward 040: general pediatric / infectious diseases ward
- Ward 041b: pediatric nephrology ward
- Ward 042: neonatology ward
When and for how long can I complete my clinical traineeship?
We always offer our clinical traineeships during the lecture-free periods between semesters. As we have only a limited number of spots available, we ask you to contact us as early as possible if you are interested in a clinical traineeship in pediatric and adolescent medicine in Marburg.
You can complete both two-week and four-week clinical traineeships at our pediatric clinic.
How do I apply? Please send your application with the exact period of your clinical traineeship and your curriculum vitae or résumé to the teaching office.
Please note that we receive many more requests than clinical traineeship places and that all places are usually filled 6 months in advance, so please contact us early if you are planning a clinical traineeship at the Children's Hospital. The Department of Pediatric Surgery is responsible for clinical traineeships on the pediatric surgery ward. Please contact the secretary's office directly.
